It begins….

Ever heard of the “Double your way to a Million” challenge? The document was put together by Stuart Goldsmith and essentially started at 1c (1p as it was from the UK) that must have been preferably, found.

1c gets doubled to 2c and so on (with a few monetary corrections) until you reach one million dollars. Sounds simple right? Thing is… you need to employ different strategies at each step. Obviously found money or selling things you find might not take you from 100k to 200k mark.

This is the start – my stake money!

I was recently talking to a friend about this challenge as they had decided to try it again. I mentioned that I thought it should be re-written for 2021 as times are different and the lowest denomination of cash money we have in New Zealand is 10c!

Then it hit me… why don’t i re-write the double challenge. So here we are!

Now, according to the old challenge, you cant start again – but I am! At Christmas dinner we all sat around the table – 5 kids & 6 adults, the adults all had a scratchie at the plate. I’m not a scratchie kind of person and honestly I forget they exist until Christmas comes around!! I also find the scratching off a sensory nightmare and super frustrating….

So I scratch the stuff off and after conferring with my hubby and pointing out several annoying issues with it, it seemed I had won $10.

As I had already done the previous steps in a past challenge, I decided I would start at $10 for this one. I like to jump up each step by simply having one transaction (or action like swapping!) so it is nice & neat.

So what can I buy with $10 to make it $20? So many things but this challenge has always relied greatly on not only a keen eye but also happenstance. what do you think I found?
